Restaurant Marks Notorious B.I.G's Death With Menu Inspired By The Rapper's Lyrics

Eighteen years ago today Notorious B.I.G died. There've been countless tributes to the rap legend but none quite as creative as this.
Chefs Chris Jaeckle from All'onda and Talde's Dale Talde, are joining forces to create the ultimate six-course meal in honour of B.I.G.'s death on 9th March 1997.
Every course is inspired by Biggie and lines from his rhymes about food. For starters, diners will have a dish inspired by the rapper's line "V8 juice drinkin', Slimfast blendin," which the chefs have made into spiced tomato soup.
Then comes the cracked pepper jerk crab and lobster roast inspired by the line "country house, tennis courts, and horseback ridin', deciding': cracked crab or lobster?"
The butter poached escargot course is an homage to the song "Hypnotize" which has the line: "Escargot my car go 160 swiftly, wreck it buy a new one, your crew run run your crew run run.”
The fourth course consists of curried oxtail patties, pickled scotch bonnet and ginge relish. That comes from Biggie's Jamaican heritage and love of spicy patties from Golden Crust.
Talde made the dessert of "G.O.A.T milk cheesecake, strawberry jam and cola caramal" because the Brooklyn-born rapper had a thing for Junior's cheesecake where he reportedly always had a strawberry slice with a coke on the side.
The meal costs $85 and is available from All'onda in Union Square from 5.30pm to 10.30pm every night.
A fitting tribute.
