African billionaire Aliko Dangote says he still plans to buy English soccer club Arsenal in the future, but will only do it for the "right price."
Arsenal is currently owned by St. Louis Rams, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rapids chairman Stan Kroenke. Kroenke has a 67% stake in the club while White Sec Ltd., which is controlled by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, owns 30%.
Dangote is Africa’s richest man, and is worth $18.4 billion, according to Forbes. He decided against trying to buy the club in 2010.
Arsenal has a value of $1.331 billion, making it the fifth-most valuable soccer club in the world.
“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I'll buy the team,” Dangote said to Bloomberg Business. “I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won't want to resist. I know my strategy."
